Who we are - Legal Staff
Jonathan Owen
jo@dentallaw.co.uk << back
Jonathan gained a scholarship to study law at the University of Wales Aberystwyth and graduated with a LLB (Hons) in 2000 before completing the legal practice course at The College of Law in Chester in the summer of 2001.

Jonathan joined The Dental Law Partnership in October 2001 as a trainee solicitor and qualified as a solicitor in October 2003 operating a full caseload of clients, with claims ranging from a failure to diagnose and treat periodontal disease, faulty implants to incorrect orthodontic treatment.

Jonathan has gained unique experience by successfully applying for the disclosure of records from dentists who had previously resisted requests under The Data Protection Act 1998 and was able to obtain both the records and the costs of the Court application against the defaulting dentist on every occasion he has appeared before the Court. He has also represented clients at three trials, which can prove a rarity in this field, and so has gained invaluable experience of Court procedure in action. During his time with The Dental Law Partnership, Jonathan has contributed articles to several publications including Dentistry, Lawtel and PMILL. Jonathan was also asked to write an article for the May/June 2007 issue of the Young Solicitors Group magazine PQE.
Jonathan has lived in the local area all his life. His interests include fantasy football management and watching county and international cricket. He also enjoys going to watch live music and listening to anything that passes for alternative music.
